Watch Penguins of Madagascar Movie Online Streaming Free, Another thing I like about the penguins is that they operate on a sort of subplane of the Madagascar-verse, one where they're actually skilled and correct instead of inept and delusional. They also have a humorous disdain for the regular Madagascar world, as shown wonderfully in one of the opening scenes - which takes place at the end of Madagascar 3 - where the penguins are trying to quickly escape the celebration and the blaring of the "Afro Circus" song which is driving them all insane.

Skip the 3D if you can as it's unnecessary here, but get ready for a fast-paced, joke-heavy steamroller of a movie designed to amuse you for 90 minutes and no more. This isn't phenomenal, transcendent animated cinema, but it's also pretty fun if you're just looking for surface-level silliness with a handful of clever gags and a lot of word play.

Story: Four penguins break into Fort Knox for what they consider to be worth more than gold - a vending machine of 'Cheezy Puffs'. Once inside, they are kidnapped by the octopus Dave (Malkovich) who nurses an old grudge against them. They escape but now have to foil Dave's master plan to disfigure all creatures cute and cuddly.

Review: We start off with the origin story of the four. While very young, Skipper (McGrath), Kowalski (Miller) and Rico (Vernon) break away from the pack in order to save a penguin egg. When it hatches, they adopt the baby, who they name Private (Knights). Curious about what lies beyond their polar surroundings, they hitch a ride on a floating iceberg and set out to see what the world has to offer. Years later, they escape a circus (where they are stars) and head to Fort Knox to buy packets of cheese crisps - Private's birthday present.
While clueless about why Dave has captured them and taken them to his headquarters in Venice, he tells the puzzled penguins that the public's love for them at zoos meant that he was blatantly ignored every time. He's therefore determined to disfigure them and all the cute penguins of the world (whom he blames for his misery) by zapping them with a 'Medusa Serum' so that people will then despise their appearance.

Penguins of Madagascar Somehow, they escape Dave's lair but after his minion octopuses chase them through Venetian streets, the penguins are saved by a mixed-species elite force called North Wind, comprising Classified (Cumberbatch), Short Fuse (Jeong), Eva (Mahendru) and Corporal (Stormare). The penguins still need to stop Dave and North Wind too needs to apprehend him. After a few hiccups, the anthropomorphic animals pool in their efforts to bring Dave down.

Watch The Imitation Game Online, Nothing is too heavily encrypted in “The Imitation Game,” a veddy British biopic of prodigal mathematician and WWII codebreaker Alan Turing, rendered in such unerringly tasteful, “Masterpiece Theatre”-ish fashion that every one of Turing’s professional triumphs and personal tragedies arrives right on schedule and with nary a hair out of place.

More than once during the accomplished (but not particularly distinctive) English-language debut for Norwegian director Morten Tyldum (“Headhunters”), you can catch the ghost of the late Richard Attenborough nodding approvingly over the decorous proceedings. And yet so innately compelling is Turing’s story — to say nothing of Benedict Cumberbatch’s masterful performance — it’s hard not to get caught up in this well-told tale and its skillful manipulations. Likely to prove more popular with general audiences than highbrow critics, this unapologetically old-fashioned prestige picture (the first of the season’s dueling studies of brilliant but tragic English academics, to be followed soon by “The Theory of Everything”) looks and feels like another awards-season thoroughbred for U.S. distrib Harvey Weinstein.

By any measure, “The Imitation Game” is a marked improvement over Michael Apted’s 2001 “Enigma,” a dreary, dramatically inert potboiler starring Dougray Scott and Kate Winslet as fictionalized versions of Turing and fellow cryptanalyst Joan Clarke, who was also briefly Turing’s fiancee — until he confessed his homosexuality and broke off the engagement. In adapting  Andrew Hodges’ Turing biography, “The Enigma,” first-time screenwriter Graham Moore seems to have made a close study of Aaron Sorkin’s script for “The Social Network,” which “The Imitation Game” resembles in its flashback structure, many scenes of geeky young men huddled over complex algorithms, and its central conception of Turing as an Aspergian outcast who makes up in haughty, condescending attitude what he lacks in basic social graces. That’s not a bad model to work from, though Moore has also picked up a few less desirable habits from those screenwriting seminars that encourage writers to do things like having multiple characters articulate the theme of the movie in a nifty, self-empowering mantra: “Sometimes it’s the people no one expects anything from who do the things no one expects,” which becomes “The Imitation Game’s” version of “Love means never having to say you’re sorry.”

Of course, in the England of Turing’s time, with the Victorian-era Labouchere Amendment still in effect, being gay meant having to say you were sorry all the time — provided you were unlucky enough to be caught in the act, as Turing was in 1952, arrested on charges of “gross indecency” stemming from his affair with a 19-year-old male drifter. (Two years later, Turing killed himself at the age of 41.) “The Imitation Game” begins there, using Turing’s interrogation by a sympathetic policeman (Rory Kinnear) as a framing device that offers a practical explanation for the character’s running voiceover narration. We then jump back to 1939 and the early days of England’s entrance into the war, where the 27-year-old Turing applies for a top-secret post working on the decryption of the seemingly “unbreakable” German cipher machine called Enigma, used by the Nazis to encode all military radio transmissions from ordinary weather reports to valuable tactical maneuvers.

Turing lands the gig at Bletchley Park, home to the Government Code and Cypher School, where he plays poorly with others, alienating his fellow codebreakers and clashing repeatedly with his bosses (a wonderfully starchy Charles Dance as a seen-it-all Royal Navy Commander and Mark Strong as a cagey MI6 agent). When Turing chafes at being second banana to the Enigma team’s de facto leader — suave national chess champion Hugh Alexander (Matthew Goode in a variation on Andrew Garfield’s “Social Network” character) — he appeals his case directly to Winston Churchill, who responds (in the very next scene) by putting Turing in charge. And just about everything in the first half of “The Imitation Game” has a similar, overly tidy feel of real life reduced to anecdotal zingers. When Turing holds a kind of open audition to recruit new team members, you know that Clarke (Keira Knightley), the lone woman in the group, won’t just turn out to be as good as the men, but even better. And when Turing finally has his Enigma-busting eureka moment, it’s due to one of those random happy accidents, like the apocryphal apple falling on Isaac Newton’s head.

There isn't much to the film's story, and yet it's stuffed to the gills with plot. The penguins Skipper, Kowalski, Rico, Private (voiced by Tom McGrath, Chris Miller, John DiMaggio and Christopher Knights) — goofy do-gooders who take pride in their MacGyver-ish knack for fast-thinking and prop deployment — zip from Antarctica to Fort Knox to Italy to Shanghai to Brazil (but not France; “Not with those tax laws!”) to stop Dave the Octopus (John Malkovich) from kidnapping tuxedoed birds all around the world and squirting them with a mysterious, bright-green serum.

A toothed mollusk with a dancer's ambition for novel movements, Dave could have been a compelling villain, but Malkovich's velvety tenor is wasted on the octopus’ tic of pointless celebrity puns like “Nicolas Cage them!” and “Elijah Wood you please take them away?”

Getting in the avian quartet's way is the highly trained, technologically advanced North Wind, a paramilitary foursome comprised of a wolf, an otter, an owl, and a polar bear. (Depressingly, only one of the nine main characters is female, and her main purpose is to be sexy. I'll leave it to you to decide which one of those Arctic animals is the most seductive.)

As for Simmons, Fletcher could have been such a caricature in the wrong actor’s hands. An over-the-top, abusive teacher is a part riddled with pitfalls. Simmons falls into none of them. He walks such a line that, even after the kind of inhumane mind games and physical abuse that should produce legal charges has unfolded on screen, we find ourselves drawn to Fletcher. He’s not 100% wrong when he says that the most dangerous two words in the English language are “good job.” Whether you think it's the right approach or not, we’re in an era of praise, where encouragement is the teaching tool and every kid gets a medal for participation. Have true talents been left to wither because they were over-watered? Simmons perfectly captures the drive of a man who believes his abusive degree of pressure is the only way to produce a diamond.

The grown-ups are just trying to temper the storms that hit their six-person clan, which also includes a baby, a too-cool teen (Dylan Minnette), and an eager theater kid (Kerris Dorsey, excellent). Whether it's a diaperless tot succumbing to nature's will, a bratty girlfriend, a disastrous driver's test, or a calamitous job interview, each extreme situation is handled with deft slapstick timing and surprisingly relatable humanity. Alexander is pleasantly devoid of the vulgarity and too-current pop culture references that are the default mode for many contemporary live-action kids' pics, and its earnest celebration of family gives the movie a comforting throwback vibe. Like the source material, this is one terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day that families just might find themselves revisiting often.

Some publications just love doing the old ‘Who’s Up, Who’s Down’ thing on a weekly basis all season long. Yawn. Let me tell you “Who’s Up.” It’s every filmmaker who can get any kind of movie made these days that is not cookie-cutter stuff ordered straight out of a studio development meeting.  And “Who’s Down“?  That’s all the filmmakers whose ambitious projects have been shot to pieces by clueless executives and are still looking for a way to get them made and financed.

I am not going to get into the weekly game of creating this kind of Oscar meter measure except this once. Indulge me because this weekend held a number of interesting turns of events for some of Oscar’s current favorite directors. And it says a lot about the ‘ups’ and ‘downs’ of this business and the fickle way Oscar winds blow.

Watch The Hero of Color City Free Movie Online, Cheerfully exhorting imagination, creativity and bravery in children while demonstrating none of those virtues itself, “The Hero of Color City” proves to be a dispiritingly colorless feature-length babysitter. A tale of talking crayons embarking on an adventure of self-actualization in their native land of Color City, the cheaply animated pic plays as if someone pitched the idea “‘Toy Story’ … with crayons!” and decided no further development was needed. Embracing a day-and-date release strategy rarely utilized for kidpics, Magnolia Pictures clearly hopes to cash in on parents too tired or distracted to fully research their home-entertainment options. Nevertheless, returns should be minimal and word of mouth nonexistent.

Lacking any of the visual sophistication customary in contemporary bigscreen toons, “The Hero of Color City” more closely resembles the by-the-numbers smallscreen product churned out overseas to fill time on countless tyke-oriented cable channels. The youngest members of the film’s target audience aren’t likely to care much about the lack of craft here, but grown-ups will immediately spot a generic rip-off and tune out accordingly. They won’t be missing much.

Gabriel and I had the honor of attending a special premier of The Good Lie last night at the Museum of Tolerance in Los Angeles. I had seen the trailer, but I was worried it was going to minimize the true story of the Lost Boys of Sudan and not reflect the experiences of resettled refugees in America. I was wrong.

The film did not leave out the horrors that thousands of Sudanese children, from Sudan and South Sudan alike have experienced. They did not leave out the hundreds of miles walked, the death of loved ones, or the horrific experience of a child being taken as a soldier or slave. It also shed true light on the trauma that the Lost Boys continue to experience as adults resettled in America.

The children used in the film are children of South Sudanese who are living in the United States. The film used Sudanese actors like Emmanuel Jal and Ger Duany who have experienced being a child of war first hand. I cried through most of the movie. It was not only very well made, but it also hurt deep in my heart to know that as the crimes unfolded on screen, they were also continuing to unfold in Sudan. The story of destruction and the long-term refugee-camp life are ones that our Darfuri friends are all but too familiar with.

The Boxtrolls has claimed the top spot in the UK box office chart.

The eccentric animation, starring Simon Pegg, Nick Frost and Richard Ayoade, knocks Cameron Diaz and Jason Segel's Sex Tape off the top after one week, earning £2m in its opening weekend.

Scarlett Johansson's Lucy remains at two with takings of £812,000, while Matthew Warchus' Pride is new in at three with over £718,000.

Sex Tape slips down to four with £673,000, while Phillip Seymour Hoffman's A Most Wanted Man enters at five with £610,000.

Opening this weekend is director Scott Frank‘s crime thriller A Walk Among the Tombstones.  The film stars Liam Neeson as a troubled ex-cop who investigates the kidnapping of a heroin drug lord’s wife, teaming up with a heroin trafficker (Dan Stevens) and his brother to hunt down the men responsible for the crime.  Unlike his Taken role where Neeson is nearly impossible to pin down, A Walk Among the Tombstones takes place in the real world, where the characters need to use their brains and not rely on an endless supply of bullets to get the job done.  Frank has a number of great credits as a screenwriter (Minority Report, Out of Sight), and he did great work directing The Lookout.  I'm happy to say I really enjoyed A Walk Among the Tombstones and definitely recommend checking it out this weekend. As I’m writing this review of “The Skeleton Twins,” I have Starship’s sparkly, glossy pop tune “Nothing’s Gonna Stop Us Now” stuck in my head. It’s probably stuck in yours now, too, and for that, I sincerely apologize.

Originally the theme to the 1987 romantic comedy “Mannequin,” this relentlessly optimistic No. 1 hit makes a crucial appearance in a very different way in “The Skeleton Twins.” But before you cringe at the very prospect of hearing it again, just hear me out. Director and co-writer Craig Johnson uses the song so surprisingly and beautifully, you actually won’t mind. Actually, you'll have an enormous smile on your face.

It’s one of many examples of how Johnson and co-writer Mark Heyman take clichéd notions, upend them, breathe fresh life into them and make them feel excitingly new. That Starship song comes in the form of a spirited lip-sync between Bill Hader and Kristen Wiig, who co-star as estranged twins fumbling to reconnect. They also get high together–a classic shorthand for breaking the ice and bonding in films–and they dress up in drag for Halloween.

We’ve seen countless uses of these devices and too often they seem wacky, forced and flat. In “The Skeleton Twins,” an off-kilter sense of humor, as well as a pervasive feeling of loneliness and regret, provides a more complex and far more human vibe.

Wiig and Hader co-star as Maggie and Milo, twins who live across the country from each other and haven’t spoken in a decade. She stayed in their hometown of Nyack, N.Y., got married and became a dental hygienist; he moved to Los Angeles with dreams of becoming an actor but instead works as a waiter. Their father committed suicide when they were 14. Their mother (Joanna Gleason in a brief but amusingly zany appearance) is a selfish self-help guru.

But despite the time and distance that have divided them, they’re still eerily in sync, and on the brink of self-destruction. The only thing that stops Maggie from swallowing a handful of pills at the film’s start is the phone call from a hospital informing her that Milo has just tried to kill himself.

She flies to L.A. and offers to bring him home with her, hoping that this will provide him with some stability. But obviously, she’s in need of some herself. “The Skeleton Twins” follows the process as Milo and Maggie learn to restore themselves by returning to each other. Again, it probably sounds very familiar–like “You Can Count on Me,” with an even more twisted sense of humor. But there are obstacles and twists on the road to recovery–and lies, and secrets, and baggage.

Maggie appears to be happily married to Lance (Luke Wilson), an overly eager and earnest nature lover who never quite gets the siblings’ jokes (which makes them even funnier). Wilson finds the tricky balance of playing an ebullient and optimistic type without overplaying it, and the filmmakers were smart to portray him as an abidingly decent dude when it would have been safer to make him a joke or a jerk.

Milo, who’s gay, can’t help but track down the man with whom he had a scandalous affair when he was much younger (Ty Burrell in a small and slightly underdeveloped role). Hader finds his own tricky balance in playing the character in an effeminate and sarcastic way without ever going over the top into flamboyance or camp.

Fundamentally, though, Wiig and Hader make this work together through their tremendous chemistry–something you’d expect, given that they were longtime “Saturday Night Live” castmates and are good friends off-camera. (I half expected an episode of "The Californians" to break out at any moment.) But this movie asks a lot of them. It asks them to navigate territory that’s both funny and dramatic, light and raw, goofy and brutally honest. And they do it spectacularly. We’ve seen Wiig handle heavier material while still playing to her comic strengths in movies like “Bridesmaids,” and she does so deftly here, as well. But Hader is just shockingly great. His performance is reminiscent of some of Robert Downey Jr.'s early work, with his ability to rattle off a wry, biting one-liner and still remain lovable, or to ooze bravado and vulnerability in a single breath.

As we enter this season of big, important awards contenders that “matter,” “The Skeleton Twins” is a small, intimate gem that might truly matter.

The opening page is a classic: it contains truth that I intend to utilize in my own legal practice when I attempt to persuade my clients that the Courtroom is the last place to resort for a decision--much better to settle if you can. Yet despite the lies and ugliness of the "real" world, however encumbered we may be by societal expectations, rules, laws and even our own desires, we remain free to determine our own contribution and to participate in the building of a perfectly just society.

We take our system for granted. We take the protection of police for granted. We take the impartiality of juries for granted. We take the honesty of witnesses and judges for granted. But what else can we do? Unless we adhere to the fiction of the "whole truth and nothing but the truth" it all falls apart. Unless we choose to believe in the potential for a better world and then act upon that belief, we remain helpless victims--Mr. Connelly admirably points out that we must each be accountable, that private decisions will ultimately have a most public consequence.

One of the strongest themes in Mr. Connolly's works is the power of family and friendships. His characters learn the hard way to value their children. His books reward loyalty and goodness. In a world that is prepared to throw out the concept of truth as a childish fiction more appropriate to the good old days when people went to Sunday School, Mr. Connelly uses his talents to remind us that truth remains and that goodness is its own reward; he cautions us that we disregard truth at our peril and for that he deserves our respect.
